If your problem is stairstep output from filePro, simply tell filePro
to use CR+LF instead of just LF.  (Change the newline option in pmaint
from "3" to "1".)

If the stairstep problem is not limited to filePro, then you can change
the printer's script to include an "stty onlcr", and the system will add
the CR to each LF sent.
