Join CAPR for the 2012 Workshops

"The Assault on Private Property in America"

(And what you can do about it!)

Once again CAPR Legal Fund is holding a day long series of workshops on
March 10, 2012 in advance of the 5th Annual CAPR Banquet, which will be
held that evening. These are separate events, both open to the public as
well as CAPR members. Plan to attend both!

This year's program will present 5 high caliber speakers. We start at 9:00
with presentations on critical areas and wetlands by Steve Neugebauer
<http://www.snrcompany.com/aboutus.html> and Ed Kilduff. Steve is a
licensed geologist/hydrogeologist/engineering geologist who knows the real
science of wetlands and debunks the myths. Even if you have heard Steve
talk before, you will learn something new from his presentation. Ed
Kilduff, who is a licensed geologist/hydrologist/engineering geologist as
well as a geophysicist licensed in California, will talk about buffers and
resources for classifying property. The two will give you powerful
knowledge.

Next up is nationally known speaker Randal O
<http://www.cato.org/people/randal-otoole> 'Toole, now a Senior Fellow at
the CATO Institute. O'Toole was one of the early detractors of the
so-called "smart growth" which is ruining urban livability and stealing
property rights.

Rosa <http://www.postsustainabilityinstitute.org/board-of-directors.html>
Koire, also nationally known, will follow with a discussion of U.N. Agenda
21 and how it has seeped into many facets of land-use planning and its
effects on property rights (it's where "smart growth" came from!). She is
one of the most knowledgeable (and scary) speakers you will hear on this
topic. Koire founded the Post Sustainability Institute and also Democrat
Against U.N. Agenda 21. Serious stuff!

We will wrap up the day with a "wrap" from attorney and environmental
scientist Paul Hirsch. Among other activities for the Legal Fund, Paul will
be the lead attorney in CAPR's challenge of the Jefferson Co., WA Shoreline
Master Program. He will bring us up to date on legal news concerning
property rights issues in Washington State.

One of the functions of the Legal Fund is education. Once again we have
kept the registration cost for this event low (below cost) to get this
information to as many people as possible. With lunch included, this is a
real value.

The workshops will be held at the DoubleTree
<http://doubletree1.hilton.com/en_US/dt/hotel/SEASPDT-DoubleTree-Suites-by-H
ilton-Hotel-Seattle-Airport-Southcenter-Washington/index.do;jsessionid=3923D
FECD04EBFED70E360FAD0ECEC4A.etc81> Guest Suites Hotel located at 16500
Southcenter Parkway, Seattle (actually Tukwila), WA. For more information
and to register, point your browser to www.capr.us <http://www.capr.us/>
and click on the "Workshops" tabs at the top of the home page. Note that
only a limited number of lunches will be available to walk-ins so it is best
to register online and early. And sign up for the Banquet while you're
there!
