To all supporters of property rights,
The U.S. Senate is about to consider bill S-787, innocently named the "Clean
Water Restoration Act". To date, the Army Corp of Engineers has had
jurisdiction over all navigable waters in the U.S.. This has had a huge
detrimental effect on private property rights. However, S-787 would give
the Corp jurisdiction over all waters. That means that if there is a damp
spot on a property, the Corp will have control of it via regulations
including large buffers. This will amount to a huge national land grab.
It is important that we influence this issue before it comes to a vote. All
politicians respond to numbers! And because they get so little feedback
from constituents, a relatively small number of comments on an issue can
sway their vote.
The first link below is a webpage from the Western Business Roundtable which
will allow you to send a form email to your congressional representatives
asking them not to support S-787. It is simple and quick to do. All you
have to provide is your sender information. The website will do the rest.
The second link will take you to a page that has more information on the
issue if you would like research the issue further.
Please take 3 minutes now to stop this land grab attempt!
