Many of you are interested in and concerned about recent developments regarding the placement of large wood in our rivers. As you know large wood plays a vital role in the ecological health of rivers and its use is extensively recommended in the WRIA 9 Salmon Habitat Plan. Moreover, the chairs of the WRIA 9 Steering Committee sent a letter in February to the King County Council regarding this issue in relation to the safety of boaters.
Consequently, we wanted you to know that King County Council Chair Larry Gossett has requested a briefing on new the "Report Addressing Public Safety in the Placement of Large Wood King County Waterways" at the:
Growth M anagement and Natural Resources Committee meeting
Tuesday, April 8th, 9:30 am,

This schedule has not been confirmed, but we wanted to let you know right away. You can confirm this schedule by visiting the Council website: http://mkcclegisearch.metrokc.gov/calendar/search.aspx?#current
