The following message is from Steve Pyeatt who is running against Bob
Ferguson for King County Council in District 1. CAPR has endorsed him.

Hi everyone!

We have in our grasp a great opportunity. We can change the direction of
King County government that affects our daily lives. King County is
currently being run by Ron Sims as Executive and Larry Phillips and
Larry Gossett on the King County Council. These two men chair the
Council and the Budget committee and have the ability to dictate what
the council does.

David Irons is positioned well to take the executive race, the latest
poll shows him winning if the election were today. So now control of the
county council is within our grasp.

Despite a large push to remove Carolyn Edmonds, and an uncontested
primary, Steven Pyeatt had a strong showing in the primary election,
drawing more votes than any other Republican challenger, and the numbers
look good for the general election.

This is a winnable race!

The people in District 1 are fed up with the status quo in King County
as shown by the incumbent drawing only 33 percent of the vote. Even more
important is that in the primary race the Democrats left each other
battered and broke. Their bitter attacks on each other has just caused
more dissatisfaction by people of the district and left my opponent with
only $3000 for the general election campaign. This race will be decided
by turnout. With the off year cycle we will win this race if we are
effective getting the word out to the like- minded voters in this
district. We must send out the message that getting out to vote for
Steven Pyeatt will turn over control of the county council to the
Republicans! It will also help get David Irons elected as executive.
Every vote for Steve will be a vote for Dave as well.

By winning this race control for the King County council, the
Republicans can take back the majority. This means they will be the ones
to decide who will chair the key committees. You can help your council
member become more effective by supporting this race. This is the only
race with a chance to win and it is within our grasp.

Phone banking, networking, and direct mail are the primary tools for
victory, and they cost money. We are very close to being fully funded
for the final push. 20 people donating $250 will give us the funding we
need to finish the campaign.Whatever you can give to help will be
greatly appreciated.EVERYONE that wants CHANGE in King County has a
stake in this first district race.
