Dear Unit President and Unit Secretary, <br>
<br>
As you know your unit board will be asked to vote in the upcoming election <br>
for Regional Director. <br>
<br>
Your candidates are: <br>
David Johnson, Tim White <br>
<br>
Our records indicate that the total membership as of June 1 for <br>
Unit 446 is 1,360. <br>
<br>
Please let me know if your unit board members will: <br>
<br>
   1. Vote at an in-person election meeting, or <br>
   2. Vote electronically online <br>
<br>
(WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE VOTING ONLINE BECAUSE OF THE CORONAVIRUS <br>
PANDEMIC). <br>
<br>
The default option is to vote electronically online. If you take <br>
no action, your Unit Board will vote electronically online (no <br>
paper ballots will be provided). <br>
<br>
However, you may opt to hold an in-person election meeting by <br>
notifying the Director of Elections no later than July 14, 2021. <br>
If a Unit Board member cannot attend the in-person election <br>
meeting, he or she may request an absentee ballot, and that <br>
Board member will be emailed a paper ballot on or about August <br>
15, 2021. Completed ballots must be received by the Director of <br>
Elections by midnight on September 15, 2021. <br>
<br>
If you choose to convene an in-person meeting for the purposes <br>
of conducting an election, it can be done in conjunction with a <br>
regular Unit Board meeting. Please do NOT schedule a meeting <br>
prior to August 15 because the election materials will not be <br>
available before then. <br>
<br>
If there is to be an in-person election meeting, the following <br>
information is needed by the Director of Elections no later than <br>
August 1: <br>
<br>
   1. The date, time and place including address, city/state, zip <br>
      of your scheduled in-person election meeting. <br>
   2. The person and address to whom to mail the election <br>
      materials. This cannot be a P.O. Box number. <br>
   3. A phone number for the person who is to receive the package <br>
      of election materials. <br>
<br>
The deadline for the return of completed ballots is midnight on <br>
September 15. <br>
<br>
