I've given it thought. I also sought the thoughts of some of our board members who have served for several years and experienced other, not dis-similar, communications from Yvonne in the past. It is our common belief that despite what U446 has done, or might ever do, Yvonne will not change her view that she and her club and players have somehow been short-changed by our unit. This, while our board members have invested scores of hours in discussion with her and working to get tournaments into south King County. More broadly, to say the unit does nothing for her club is ungracious in the extreme.</div><div><br></div><div><div>It's somewhat ironic that this note came now. <span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; ">A</span><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); "> couple months ago I sent a note to all clubs in King County listed in the ACBL club directory, saying our unit recognizes the importance of the health of the clubs and that we would like to establish a dialog to understand how the unit could better harmonize its activities with the interests of the clubs. I received no response from Yvonne.</span></div></div><div><br></div><div>What she asks -- that her club be transferred to the Tacoma Unit -- is impossible. Clubs may only affiliate with the unit within whose boundaries they are located. So long as her club is located in King County, it may only affiliate with U446.</div><div><br></div><div>The sense of the responses I received from our board members to whom I sent Yvonne's note is to send her a polite reply responding to her request for transfer and conveying our openness to constructive discussion, but to not seek to change her mindset.
