According to google maps
Kent Commons: Distance to food = 3 minute walk or 1 minute drive (total 2
minutes driving)
Bothell: Distance to food = 5 minute walk or 2 minute drive for the
close food, 4-5 minute drive for the food that is farther (total 2
minutes driving or possibly 9 minutes driving)
Forest Ridge: no walkable food, 8 minute drive (16 minutes driving)
I was personally unexcited about the lunch at forest ridge last year but
appreciated not having to drive to Factoria and everyone I've talked to
informally prefers that lunch be available on site given the distance
to food. Others also like hot dogs more than me :P
Look forward to the further discussion once we get details on partial
lunch from Kim, would be great to figure this out in a timely fashion so
we can update the flyer in the SUN and those being distributed if
necessary.

Jeff,
Thanks for your note and thoughts. This is a matter presently under consideration by the board. Upon availability of additional information from Kim, the full board will make a determination as to potential participation in the on-site lunch program offered by Forest Ridge.
Thanks,
Tim

I just saw the flyer for this at the club last night, and I was extremely surprised by the note about the Sunday lunch. While I understand that the unit is trying to stop providing lunch, I don't think Forest Ridge is a site where this is appropriate. Last time we were there the school catered a lunch for a reasonable price. Was this no longer available? Given the savings on rent there, even if the unit doesn't charge the players the full cost of lunch it should still come out ahead on the tournament.
As it stands, unless you allow a very long break people aren't going to have time to go get lunch, and despite the note on the flyer, there are going to be a lot of people who just show up with no lunch who are going to be very grumpy if they have to go all day with just the snacks from hospitality. If you aren't going to provide lunch, there should be a long break and possibly one less round of bridge.
There is still plenty of time to fix this - new flyers could be printed for the KO Sectional and go out in the upcoming SUN. I hope that you will consider doing so.
One minor point if you do make new flyers - the description of the IMP pairs isn't really correct. It implies that there is a field average that you compare to, but what you actually do is compare to every single other pair that holds your cards.
