<div dir="ltr">I am concerned about the advice not to ask questions about an alerted bid unless it is going to affect what you do. Doing so gives unauthorized information to your partner when you ask and then don't do anything. I realize that at the I/N level most UI is innocuous, but it's a bad habit to be in.<div><br></div><div>My advice would be more like this: "An alert means that the bid is unusual and you should ask what it is. Do this whether you are planning to bid or not. All you have to say is 'Please explain' when you hear 'Alert'."</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks for putting this together Craig - I think that we don't do a great job teaching the etiquette of bridge along with declarer play, defense, and bidding.</div><div><div><br></div><div>Jeff</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Fri, Mar 6, 2015 at 12:46 PM Seattle Unit Partnership <<a href="mailto:sbu446partnership@gmail.com">sbu446partnership@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><br><div class="gmail_quote">---------- Forwarded message ----------<br>From: <b class="gmail_sendername">Seattle Unit Partnership</b> <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:sbu446partnership@gmail.com" target="_blank">sbu446partnership@gmail.com</a>></span><br>Date: Fri, Mar 6, 2015 at 12:38 PM<br>Subject: Fwd: Hello Susan!<br>To: <a href="mailto:sbuboard@lists.celesial.com" target="_blank">sbuboard@lists.celesial.com</a><br><br><br><div dir="ltr"><div>Here is the document I received from Craig Mills with what he wants to talk about before the first game at the I/N tournament tomorrow.
