Hi all -- I think we need to make a statement about the Sweetheart
Sectional, so that players know we are working to make the event happen.
We do not yet have a signed contract with a site, so we shouldn't say much
more than "we're working on it and will let you know".
I propose we send a very simple email blast, with text like the following:
===BEGIN DRAFT===
By now, you may have heard that Eastside Bridge Center has lost their lease
and can no longer host the Open events for the Sweetheart Sectional on Feb
18-20.
Jeff Ford and David Dailey, as co-chairs of the event, are working to pin
down a solution that will allow the tournament to proceed. We may not have
firm details until Tuesday or Wednesday the 15th/16th of February.
The most likely solution is that we will find an alternate site for the
Open events. If your games are moved and you are not able to attend at the
alternate site, we will issue refunds of your registration fees.
When we have firm details about our plans, we will contact all
pre-registered players, post new details on the unit website at
http://www.bridgeinseattle.org/2022-sweetheart-sectional, and send you
another unit-wide email blast.
=== END DRAFT===
Any thoughts?
