See the bolded note at the end of Nick's message. We should be clear on
what our policy is. (I don't think we really talked about it since Nick's
club was previously requiring masks.)

Hi all,
So, I have been pondering this for a few weeks now. I certainly wasn't
willing to change our
mask requirement until at least a week after the Leavenworth Regional.
Since then, things have
been settling down for the most part, at least locally. Although national
infection rates are going
up in the past two weeks, King County is holding steady both on new
infections and hospitalizations.
Nobody enjoys wearing masks. Some of us see much more benefit to
themselves and those close
to them if (and sometimes only if) everyone is wearing masks. I have been
in that group since this
pandemic started 25 months ago.
Starting on May 2nd (next Monday), masks will be optional. This is a
test phase. If it causes
any problems, such as heated discussions, lowered attendance, or anything
else detrimental to
the club, then the mask requirement will be reinstated. I expect it will
take more than one week to
determine if attendance is adversely affected. Regardless, I reserve the
right to reinstate the mask
requirement with 24 hours notice.
If that might affect your attendance one way or the other, you can always
email, text, or call me to
get a quick answer.
*Mask Policy for the Seattle Unit's Mentor/Mentee game on Sunday, May 1st
are up to the Unit Board.*
Thanks,
Nick
