Dear District Presidents, Unit Presidents and Tournament Chairs,

As we wrote to you last month, the ACBL will be staffing open sectionals
and regionals that meet the criteria for the safe return to face-to-face
tournaments, including local restrictions, virus positivity rates,
vaccination rates and local bridge club activity. Click here

to see the most up-to-date protocol policy, which was announced on
September 3, 2021.

After running the analysis for tournaments beginning in October 2021, four
tournaments (list

have met the four major criteria and will be staffed. An additional nine
tournaments (list
<https://acbl.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0a09fd687ebd2b74a40bba3c4&id=11eb4d8abc&e=70fa6a488a>)
are being considered. Those nine tournaments can either choose to be
canceled by the ACBL or voluntarily require masks for all attendees.

*If you have planned an open sectional or regional to begin in October, a
member of the Tournaments Team will reach out to the tournament chairperson
regarding its status. *

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and will communicate a
decision regarding November tournaments by October 15, 2021.
