Dear JC,



It is with a heavy heart that I advise that the Whistler Regional Bridge
Tournament is officially cancelled. We had hoped to be able to return to
Regionals in the District in 2021, but sadly that is not to be. We would be
remiss in not acknowledging our hotel partner, the Fairmont Chateau
Whistler who have worked very closely with the District in trying to run a
safe and fun event. We look forward to returning to Whistler in the future.
The work done by original chair Bruce Busby and his team, current chair
Marv Norden, and the District Tournament Committee are also deeply
appreciated. Tournament Director Matt Koltnow has worked closely with the
District and his counsel has helped guide us through these difficult
times.



As suggested in an earlier email, we encourage you to consider using some
or all of the days you may have booked at the hotel for a non bridge
getaway. It’s a very good rate at one of the top hotels in BC. If you do
not plan on visiting Whistler, remember to cancel your hotel reservation.



The next District Regional is scheduled for Leavenworth Washington, April
4-10 2022. Tournament Chair Karen Rise and her committee are busy working
on a great week. If you have never been, you are in for a treat.
Leavenworth is an old world Alpine/Bavarian style village. If you envision
a small town, somewhere in Germany, nestled in a narrow valley and
surrounded by mountains. Leavenworth could be that very place. More info

Finals for the North American Pairs (NAP) are on BBO October 16 & 17. Entry
fees are only $15 and the top 3 finishers in each flight earn subsidies of
up to $700 each to attend the NABCs in Reno in March.More details here:
