Subject: ACBL COVID-Related Policy for Tournaments
To:

District 19 Board Members, Officials and Unit Presidents,

Today, during Day 2 of the Summer ACBL BOD Meeting, the Board and ACBL
management discussed aspects of ACBL’s COVID-related tournament policies.
In real time, the Board drafted and passed a motion with the following
wording as guidance to ACBL management for its next policy release
pertaining to tournament COVID guidelines:

Subject to change at any time, anyone who has received the required doses
of a Covid-19 vaccine (under Health Canada, CDC, or Mexico Ministry of
Health guidelines) at least 14 days prior to their attendance at a bridge
tournament will not be required to wear a mask at said tournament. This
ACBL policy does not countermand any ordinance or law in effect at the site
of the tournament.

The Board believes this is an important step forward and a prudent measure
given current circumstances. It’s also recognized that authentication of
documentation of COVID vaccination is an issue; means to address this are
being pursued.

Other COVID policy elements remain to be worked out, including those
related to unvaccinated persons. ACBL management is working on this.

The Board asked management to provide it a preview of the ACBL's next
COVID-related tournament policy release.

Please pass this information along to unit board members and to officials
and other parties involved in planning and running tournaments sponsored by
your organizations.

Thanks,

Tim White
