Forwarding in case any of you were missed on the distribution of this.

Our next board meeting is after the National BOD meeting referenced. If we
want to create a joint response or statement as a board to send to Julie
Smith (our representative to the BOD), I could set up a quick ad hoc
meeting for that purpose and/or compose a draft depending on what we agree
are the points to emphasize. However, as I expect we will have a range of
opinions, I am also okay with any board member individually sending Julie
their thoughts on these matters so long as you make clear you are speaking
as a unit board member and that you are not speaking for the board as a
whole.

Regardless, I will ask Julie if there are any facts in this letter that she
believes are incorrect, including but not limited to whether there is a
planned vote on regionals and sectionals being held online.

Thanks,
JC

To our District and Unit Peers:

This email is from the officers, Director-in-Charge, and Tournament Manager
of District 25 (New England) of the ACBL. We are writing to you as a
fellow officer/representative of an ACBL District or Unit. The attached
letter contains our strong concerns for actions which the ACBL has taken or
is likely to take and how we collectively believe the ACBL Board of
Directors is failing to represent the best interests of bridge.

We urge you to read this letter and consider the issues it raises and to
let your BOD representative know your feelings on these matters. In
addition, if you agree with our position, we ask that you post the attached
letter prominently on your District or Unit web site and send us a link
that we can put on our web site. We warmly welcome your feedback to us,
whether you agree or disagree with us.

We are all custodians of bridge in our areas and sharing our thoughts,
whether we agree or not, can only be beneficial to the future of bridge.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Best regards,

Jack Mahoney, President
New England Bridge Conference (ACBL District 25)
