[SBU Board] D19 Board Representative - vacancy to be filled

Hi all,

Due to personal reasons, Julie Smith, our D19 representative to the ACBL
Board of Directors, is resigning on December 31st.  Tim White is the first
alternate and will be stepping into the ACBL Board position. Because of
this, he will need to resign as the Unit 446 representative to the D19
Board, also effective December 31st.

As such, one of our agenda items for the incoming board at our January 2021
meeting will be to determine how we want to fill this vacancy (i.e., using
our normal procedures for electing a D19 board representative or an
alternate method).  I have inquired as to when the next D19 board meeting
is scheduled to help us know whether we need to accelerate the process.

The related D19 by-laws are:
5.11.1 Seattle and Vancouver, B.C., units boards shall fill vacancies for
their respective directors by whatever procedure they designate.
Notification of replacements must be received by the President or Secretary
ten (10) days prior to any scheduled District Board meeting to be effective
for that meeting, unless such vacancy occurs within ten (10) days prior to
the meeting.

I'm CCing Tim as FYI of this notice to the board and also so that the board
can ask questions if desired.
