[SBU Board] Proposal to run Virtual KO Teams Event over Memorial Day Weekend

I like the idea also and concur with Monty’s comments. I might add that I don’t know how our ACBL directors (Matt, Jenni, Jeremy) are currently affected, but we should also consider them in the discussion, especially if we seek ACBL sectional sanctioning.

I’m sure Nick can break out the $6 and how it is currently divided up. I know clubs get a big piece of it.

Thanks Scott.

Tom

This is an imaginative suggestion, and I’m very much in favor of something along these lines. Some immediate reactions, which I’m sending along now since time is short and it may be possible to find out some of the answers before Monday night:

1.	Let’s talk to ACBL about whether we can award masterpoints of some kind – either black or silver.
2.	Let’s talk to Nick Tipton for his reaction generally (he’s just re-starting Friday and Saturday games), and for his experience in working with BBO.
3.	If masterpoints are available, I have no objection to a fee, least of all at BBO’s current rate of $6 per session.
4.	Let’s not bite off too much – i.e., joining it with pairs games – at our first go.

Thanks for proposing this, Scott.

I am attaching a proposal for Monday's agenda to offer a virtual KO Teams event over Memorial Day weekend in place of our sectional. Please read the attached proposal. We can discuss it at Monday's meeting but feel free to weigh in over email if you wish. I also asked Ray to collect opinions during the Tuesday Mercercrest game.

Thanks,
Scott
