[SBU Board] Seattle Rec activities closed through 6/10 - implication for KO?

I'm in agreement with Scott. Even with a gradual easing of government restrictions, bridge is still mainly old people. Sane old people (and I like to think of myself that way) will be more cautious about close quarters, even after relaxation of state bans. I think we need to count on severely diminished table counts well into next year.

I was a vote for keeping options open just in case, but I think that this is a very clear sign of what the Seattle policy is going to be for the foreseeable future. A bridge tournament is much riskier in this environment than a youth soccer game is. I've also been reading more about plans to reopen the economy and it's very clear that testing will be nowhere near safe enough in the near term. Finally, I've been thinking about all the extra costs we would probably have to take to make this tournament safe, including a vast distribution of Purel and other cleaning protocols.
I say that we officially cancel and that gives us time to consider the cost-effectiveness of moving the Kent Sectional.

Seattle Parks & Rec has notified team sport leagues that fields and other rec spaces will be closed to team activities through 6/10.
To me, this is a pretty strong indicator that the KO sectional won't be able to run. Team-based gatherings are smaller than a sectional by a fair amount, so if Seattle P&R is barring team activities, I can't imagine larger events will be allowed any sooner.
Any thoughts?
