I wanna weigh in on this. Leavenworth is a moneymaker out of the box, due
to Karen Rise's hard work. It is easily accessible from Seattle (you can
actually take AMTRAK to Leavenworth! and I personally love this tournament,
and would hate to see it off the schedule forever.
I am also a huge fan of the Victoria tournament, when it is downtown, BUT
understand that the economics may work against this one. It is not the
easiest place to get to (Clipper or ferry), but is a great spot for a
tournament, and I'd hate THAT one to go away.
I know Whistler is great, and I don't want that one to go away, ether, BUT,
it doesn't seem to make great economic sense to me to take Leavenworth
completely off the table. I don't quite understand why it should be on the
docket every year....
