[SBU Board] C Strat Players

At Bothell this past weekend, there was some indication of increasing participation by C strat players.  What a great thing!  Perhaps the many efforts of teachers, clubs and organizers is bearing fruit.

Getting more C strat players into the comfort zone of Unit and District event play could go a long way toward increasing their overall participation and solidifying unit/district financials longer term.

In our Seattle unit, we have a great opportunity to further build on this.  Sometimes problems become opportunities.  The original plan (and sanction) to hold this fall's D19 NAP Flight C (0-500 NLM) Finals at Vancouver Bridge Centre in BC fell through because we learned that in July the club will cease operating at its present location.  After scrambling and scouring BC for an alternative site for Flight C, and finding none that were both available and affordable, we have now set the event for Sunday, September 23 at Eastside Bridge Centre, see flyer attached below.

With the great success of U446 NLM pairs in the recent NAP national championships at NABC Philadelphia, we can convey to our U446 NLM players that they are progressing with their games and truly an up and coming competitive group of bridge players.  With encouragement, they might turn out in great numbers for the D19 NAP Finals at Eastside in Sept.  Perhaps one key to this is getting to the clubs as part of promoting the idea to NLM players the idea of playing unit and district events.
