[SBU Board] 2018 Suntan Sectional Attendance Stats

Sharon Erwin has acquired and provided the attendance numbers below for this past weekend’s sectional in Kent.  In a quick look, it appears striking that there were so few players and few sessions played by players from the southern portion of U446 and from adjacent units to the south.  Unlike players from the central and northern portions of U446 and on northward, these players should not have been deterred by the I-5 closure.  There were more players from Everett Unit (9), and almost as many players from Mount Vernon/Anacortes Unit (4), as there were from the Olympia Unit  (5). There were as many players combined from Maryland, Mexico, Wenatchee, Silicon Valley and Palm Springs Units (5 in total) as there were from Olympia Unit (5).  30 of 150 Seattle Unit attendees (20%) and of 198 attendees overall (15%) were from the southern area of U446.  30 attendees is the equivalent of a 7-1/2 table club game.  Yvonne’s Des Moines club game drew 14-1/2 tables (58 players) on July 6 and 11-1/2 tables (46 players) on July 13 — of course only a fraction of club players play tournaments but these are interesting numbers for reference.
