[SBU Board] Feedback Re Website

For my part, I'd prefer that we keep a clean definition that the board page
listing is for board members. Otherwise, we risk seeming biased in who we
do and don't include, as well as subjecting people doing us kind favors to
the scrutiny and random questions we all get. We have tons of volunteers
that help make things great in the unit, who are not on the board. What
about people who help with setup/teardown/hospitality? And Jeff, who still
manages the mailing lists for us? the printing company cutting us a great
rate on newsletter printing/mailing? Etc. It quickly becomes a long and
unwieldy list.
Part of the purpose of the photos and listing is to make the board visible
to the unit, so that members know who to reach and contact with issues. I
wouldn't want to subject Sharon, David, etc. to that scrutiny when they
are kindly doing the unit a service.
I am thinking about adding some kind of awards/recognition area to the
website, and recognition of members who serve the unit outside the board
would fit well into that construct. I haven't figured out how best to fit
that into the site yet, though. As a board, perhaps we should also consider
offering some kind of service award to members who go above and beyond in
service to the unit? It could have some kind of pin/medal/certificate,
handed out like the bridge award recognition.
