FYI, below is my quick look report out on this year's D19 GNT Finals. Thanks Ray, Mike, Eric and Tracey for playing the event -- apologies if I left out anyone else who also participated :-)
I think there's an opportunity for a breakthrough in Flight C participation in next year's GNT Finals. Eric has done a great job of getting Flight C teams lined up to play this year's U446 Round Robin -- nine at last count I believe. The plan is for the spring 2019 D19 GNT Flight C Finals to take place in WA -- hopefully in conjunction with the Everett Sectional. I suggest we work on encouraging -- in the right way in the right time frame -- our U446 RR Flight C teams to consider playing the 2019 D19 GNT Flight C Finals. Over time, these two events might perhaps become mutually reinforcing in terms of building Flight C players' participation in team events -- noting that the GNT C finals are slated to alternate yearly between WA and BC. Might also encourage more Flight C teams to get out to play our U446 sectionals.
(As a reminder, I will be away and largely out of touch April 17 - May 6. I'll be back for the May 7 board meeting.)
Thanks,
Tim

> Firstly, thanks go to Everett U437 and Vancouver Bridge Centre for being our host sites. Both were great to work with and central to the success of this year's finals. Thanks also go to the following folks:
>
> Matt Koltnow for being our DiC both in Everett and Vancouver.
>
> The U437 sectional tournament crew for all they did, including fantastic hospitality.
>
> Jennifer Ballantyne for planning and providing fantastic hospitality in Vancouver.
>
> Bruce McIntyre for VBC on-site support, including the bonus of applying his home-grown software routine to create hand records for boards that were shuffled for play.
>
> Nick Stock for making the run to HSBC.
>
> This year we had another bump in the number of teams participating -- see table. It's especially encouraging to have more participation in Flight C.

> As the D19 board discussed in Burnaby, going forward we have headwinds in terms of GNT and NAP Finals sites in WA and BC and the loss of the Marking by Pianola tool for email blasts.
