[SBU Board] Publicity Report

Since I won't be at the meeting tomorrow, below is a report on publicity
activities. Most important notes are regarding our fall sectionals; we are
behind on locking down details.  These need to be finalized ASAP so we can
get a flyer into the Aug/Sept newsletter.

Email blast results are attached. We saw a dip in CTR on the most recent
blast, which is somewhat concerning. If this is consistent with our next
blast, I'll experiment with some different templates or designs; we may
just have some content fatigue setting in now that we've had this same
format for over a year. If anyone else has ideas for improving the emails,
I'm open to them.

*Next email blast will be ~7/10.  If you have any upcoming items you want
me to mention, please let me know ASAP.*

Note also that the blast for the Barometer Pairs went out late because we
had to hold the newsletter and email waiting on the Suntan Sectional lunch
plan to get resolved. I'm not sure if the Barometer got hurt by the delay,
but generally, the schedule I have flyers being created/reviewed on is
built around the newsletter going out and advance warning for events. For
future, we need to be firm on the plan we set for sectionals when the flyer
is reviewed, as much as possible, to avoid delaying our communications.

*Upcoming sectional publicity:*

   - Suntan - included in email blast, flyer included in newsletter, flyers
   distributed to clubs, and the larger ACBL email blasts have gone out. (ACBL
   blast held until 30 days prior due to newsletter/local blast timing.)
   - Fall NLM - Open questions for flyer prep below, *needs to be locked
   down by 7/1 for us to make it into Aug/Sept newsletter with a complete
   flyer by 7/10 deadline.  Chairs also need to be on alert to review and
   approve a flyer 7/3-7/5.*
   - Location & dates  (Note: the deadline I'm giving is assuming September
      dates. If we go to November, the deadline changes)
      - Any changes to schedule vs. last year (last year's flyer attached)
      - e.g., single session OK for Swiss or not?
      - Any additional info to add to flyer
   - Halloween - Open questions for flyer prep below, *needs to be locked
   down by 7/1 for us to make it into Aug/Sept newsletter with a complete
   flyer by 7/10 deadline.  Chairs also need to be on alert to review and
   approve a flyer 7/3-7/5.*
   - Any changes to *schedule *vs. last year (last year's flyer attached,
      strats will be adjusted to match other 2017 sectionals and location and
      other info will be updated)
      - Any additional info to add to flyer
      - Confirm lunch plan (or confirm no lunch offered) for Sunday
