[SBU Board] Unit C&E Committee?

Folks,

After our round robin match this evening, we spent time with Tom and Jenni Carmichael discussing the Forest Ridge situation, especially the smoking prohibition and risk of losing the site.  Tom encouraged us to include in the announcements at the sectional that any player who does not follow host site rules (i.e. smoking prohibition and parking regs) will be subject to disciplinary action by the unit's Conduct & Ethics Committee.

We do not presently have a C&E Committee, however Section 9.2 of the unit bylaws addresses the unit board's establishment of a Conduct & Ethics Committee.  Perhaps we should establish such a committee at our board meeting on June 25, if we feel we should have such recourse against any player(s) who violates the rules of the host site.  We would need to do a bit of homework to ensure adherence to with terms and procedures called out in the ACBL Code of Disciplinary Regulations.

We would need to have seven committee members, two of whom must be board members, and name a chairman.
