John W is trying to pull together historical table count figures so we can examine last weekend's turnout in the context of recent years' sectionals. Of course, there are always several variables at play that influence turnout and these will be items for discussion. 

Some initial observations based on a quick look at the figures below: 

There were (25+5+8+43+41+8+12+19=) 161 sessions played by players from the southern portion of U446. Apart from Seattle, Mercer Island and Vashon (generally central areas of U446 geographically), there were (3+62+12+1+16+50+2+4+6+52+8+14+6=) 236 sessions played by players from north of I-90 or appreciably eastward off I-90 within U446. This suggests checking to see what percentages of U446 membership are located in north/central/south King County. (Mike, I seem to recall you had taken a look at this last year -- do you have data on this?) 

I didn't find (may have misplaced) attendance location data for last year's sectional in Kent. Would be helpful to have comparative data from last year's attendance #'s from U446 South King County locales. 

There were (4+10+16+33+20+6=) 89 sessions played by players from Units to the north of U446. There were (10+21=) 31 sessions played by players from Units to the south of U446. Although we focus mainly on servicing our U446 membership (in this case South King County), drawing players from adjacent Units is important. It is striking that there was such low attendance by folks from units to the south, especially when we had players all the way from Vancouver BC, Vancouver Island, Bellingham, Anacortes, Everett, and the Olympic Peninsula. There were even (2+6+3+2+2+6=) 21 sessions played by out of state players -- only 10 fewer in total than from Tacoma and Olympia. This suggests the need for better marketing in the Tacoma and Olympia Units (as well as in South King County).
