[SBU Board] Reminder -- Board Meeting Tomorrow Evening

Can't be there, sigh. But I have some thoughts, just the same...

in terms of start times. I prefer 1:30 and 7:00 on Fridays (it is a work
day and tougher for working folk to make earlier starts; also gives us more
time to set up the game); and earlier starts (10:30 is OK with me) on
Saturday--I like getting home earlier on Saturday...).

I know we asked about start times in the recent poll. I wonder if it would
be useful to poll Sectional attendees to see who is actually working vs.
not working? Just a thought.

In terms of events, I think too many events at one tournament puts a lot of
strain on the directors (I'm remembering one recent time at Vasa, where we
had something like 4 different swisses running: a 750, a AX, a BCD, and a
199, and the chaos it created--we didn't get out of there until really
late, and hard to do lunch break. And very disruptive: most of the room was
done, but the BCD was still playing long after 6:30. Don't recommend that
ever again-nightmare for us and for directors.

Wonder if it might be fun to have a fast pairs on a Friday? Might work,
esp if we have a 10:30 start the next day?

have fun. I'll checking out Chick Corea.....
