I would be willing to help but I leave for a couple of weeks on Wednesday and have a full schedule until then. Let me know if it is not resolved right away.

Greetings again, all -
This relates to the local club in the Shoreline area, run by Margaret Marshall and my good friend Clint Hattrup.
I just talked with Clint. In sum, there are two problems. One they have already solved. But they need our help with a second problem, which I will describe.
First, some background. This is a longstanding, small club. They play one session a week, on Wednesdays, I think in a church in the Shoreline area. They have a small but very loyal clientele. I have not played there, but it is my impression that it is an older group. Clint and Margaret are "co-directors," as he describes it. Clint just had his 86th birthday, and I think Margaret is of similar age.
Margaret apparently did not pay the club's ACBL renewal fee when it came due.
The ACBL folks called Margaret's home phone, and left one or more messages with her husaband.
He is suffering from dementia, and she never got the message. Eventually the ACBL "cancelled" their franchise.
When Margaret finally learned about it, they got it straightened out, and the fee has now been paid.
So the club has been reinsttated, and this problem is history, at least for now.
But there is another problem, still not solved.
For a long time, Clint sent the game results in to the ACBL from his home computer, and all went smoothly.
But for the past several months, the results have not been successfully transmitted and posted.
Clint has talked at length by telephone with Tony Green, a technical person at the ACBL, but they have not worked it out.
He has also sought help from a local person, supposedly skilled in computer matters, but again without any resolution.
Meanwhile, results are not being recorded and players are not getting their awards.
That cannot be good for maintaining the loyalty of their players.
I told him the Unit should stand ready to help out our local clubs whenever we can - and this was a perfect opportunity.
Is there someone who would be willing to meet with Clint, figure out what the problem is, and solve it?
Specifically, they would need to get the past two months' records posted; and set up a system to assure that it can be done timely in the future.
It would need to be someone who has familiarity with ACBL Score, or whatever system they are now using; and is skilled with computers generally. That is definitely not me - or I would do it myself!
It would probably also be best if the person lived or worked in the North End somewhere, as the game is there and Clint lives in Shoreline.
Any takers, or other suggestions?
John W.

As I understand the club had failed to remit some fees due ACBL.

I know a little bit - a very little bit - about Margaret Marshall and her club.
It is a small club, in the Shoreline area somewhere.
Margaret Marshall is a close friend of a long-time good friend and bridge partner of mine, Clint Hattrup.
I think Clint has directed at the game for her, occasionally or perhaps regularly.
I have no idea about the circumstances of this club being "cancelled" and then reinstated by the ACBL.
But I will inquire of Clint and let you know.
