Hi all,

As discussed at the last board meeting, I prepared a 2016 schedule flyer
that includes the upcoming events for this year and lists out our local
club games. Please review and let me know ASAP if there's anything amiss,
be it wrong info or missing info or some other comment.

I'm going to send this same flyer out to the club managers for them to
review that section, but don't hesitate to let me know about something
missing or definitely inaccurate in that section. I pulled the information
from our website and the club websites (when available), so if it's wrong,
I want to get it fixed.

*Frequently Asked Questions (or at least, I think they will be):*

*Why break out the tournaments by type instead of providing one list?*
It's a little easier to read. One long list gets tough to scan across or
busy with lines if I make it a big table. Also, it saves us from having to
say what kind of tournament it is on each line, which gets repetitive (look
at the ACBL's list for D19 with every other filter set to "all" to see what
I mean). Finally, because regionals are spread widely, nationals are
spread even wider, but sectionals are right here, it logically shows why
certain tournaments are included and hopefully helps head off dissent as to
why we "left off" another nearby sectional or event.

*Why list the nationals?*
It's handy to have the dates for those, and it provides a very clear
progression from nationwide to region to unit, heading off any inquiry as
to why we included tournament X and not tournament Y.

*Why isn't Rainbow listed and/or more SBC listed?*
Rainbow isn't hosting games currently, and SBC's games are limited
currently. (In fact, I'm going to have to confirm with Nick that what I've
got is actually happening...there were conflicting things in different
sources.) I will make sure I get the actual correct club info from Nick
before this goes to print, and I'll update our website with the latest when
I have it, too.

*Why not list exact start times for club games when known?*
Because these do change, get cancelled, or have special games, I want to
ensure that people are forced to go to some other source to confirm before
showing up somewhere and then angrily blame a flyer they got X months ago
for not having the most up-to-date information.

*But it's too hard to find this info on our website and/or this info isn't
on our website?*
Once I get this confirmed, I'm going to update the website to match this
but also include links and greater detail about the event. It's on my "to
do" list for this weekend. I'm also going to do some minor work to make
event listings a little more front and center in the site, as I've heard
feedback from lots of folks (on and off the board) at this point that the
number one thing they want from our website is tournament/club/event
information. (Number two, by the way, is information for new players or
how to learn.)
