Jeff, please submit the following statement to the board  for me.



To the Seattle Unit Board



Greetings,



I understand that after the deadline for the unit board election that there
is one seat that does not have a candidate running for it.  After careful
consideration I would like to submit an application for that seat.  I
understand the board is considering options of how to fill the seat and
that I will probably not be considered on the same basis as the 3
candidates who filed for the election.



As you know I have served on previous boards and have considerable
experience in the way the board works and the goals and duties of the
board.  I consider myself to be extremely qualified, both as a bridge
player and as a board member.  I enjoyed my time on the board and am
looking forward to once again having the opportunity to serve the bridge
community.



There may be some concern that I didn’t file for the election.  I had
decided to take off one more year before trying to get on the board again
next year.  But when I found out the board was short a member, I felt it
was my duty and privilege to offer my services to the board now instead of
waiting that extra year.



Thank you for your consideration, and I hope that I will be allowed to join
you soon in promoting our great game.
