[SBU Board] Election

Understanding that I have no good ideas at the moment as an alternative, here is my thought on option #2.
There exists the perception of the board being run by like minded “eastside” people (try not to get hung up on the language. I am sure you have heard it before). Like it or not, I have heard it in the bridge community since before I ran for the board, and I think that not letting the members vote a person onto the board helps eliminate any conversation about cronyism.
It seems to me that the board electing an interim person to fill a seat that was vacated midterm is appropriate, but filling a vacancy in what should have been an elected position just doesn’t feel appropriate.
Anyway, that is what strikes me about option number 2
