[SBU Board] Election

Here are three alternative ideas.
All three have, as there first step, that we declare as elected the three
candidates who timely filed for the position.

(1) Extend the filing deadline 21 days for the one remaining position.
Give that action general publicity among the membership.
Advise anyone who has expressed interest in the position.

If only one person files timely, declare him/her elected.
If more than one files, hold an election as to that position only.
If nobody files, adopt alternative (2) or (3).

            OR

(2) Newly-constituted Board of 11 selects a 12th member, following the
procedure for filling a vacancy.
I would suggest that the term be a full three years.

            OR

(3) Proceed with a Board of eleven members in 2016, declare five positions
available in next year's election.

None of these alternatives is ideal.
But I would recommend option (2) - new board selects a twelfth member

Only three candidates declared by the deadline. Near as I can tell there are
no provisions in the bylaws for what happens now for the fourth position.

Both Ray Miller and Melinda Westgate expressed interest to me Tuesday night.
Thoughts on what to do?
