Hi All,<br>
<br>
I recently bought a new PC with embedded sound that was recognized
as a Realtek ALC887-VD and installs a snd-hda-intel ALSA module. The
snd-hda-intel module has some quirks.<br>
<br>
I have Googled till I'm cross eyed but haven't yet discovered the
magical mix to get it to work crackle and feedback free. Especially
since I want to be able to Skype and use gtk-recordmydesktop with
sound input.<br>
<br>
I'm thinking that maybe one day some one will get it right but it's
probably a few kernel upgrades/dist releases away.<br>
<br>
Until then I would like your idea's on what sound cards are working
in your own setups. With the idea of maybe installing one on my box.<br>
<br>
I have the following slots. With a graphics card taking up the PCIe
2.0 x 16 slot.<br>
<br>
<table class="spectable" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tbody>
<tr>
<span
id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_ctl00_specification1_span_specifications"></span><td>Expansion
Slots</td>
<td>1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (blue) <br>
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black) <br>
1 x PCIe 2.0 x1 <br>
1 x PCI </td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
<br>
So suggestions please.<br>
<br>
Of course I will be able to investigate and figure this out myself
using the interwebs. But I had a hankering for a nostalgia post as
much as to ask this question.<br>
<br>
PS. Hope you are all well.<br>
