Sid has caught up with the current craze for reworking the Sysv init<br>
scripts to promote parallel startup. On Fedora and Ubuntu (I think)<br>
the new function is called upstart. On Debian it's insserv. Per one<br>
user who is running a light weight desktop manager (not the standard<br>
KDE), with insserv activated boot to running on the desktop takes only<br>
20 seconds.<br>

There are very few bug reports at present, mostly nitpicks.<br>

Kernel 2.6.27 with support for some newer wireless chipsets.<br>
