Hey all!

Still here, lurking in this, my linux family.

No Corona just yet, although I was in SF for RSA when they brought in the cruise ship.

In case you guys care, Johns Hopkins has a tracker. It doesn't seem to update automagically, but the numbers do seem to be updated regularly.

I'm amazed at how many of my Linux problems are resolved simply by a Google search, often at some Ubuntu-related site (or Mint, or Arch).

Kontact still continues to suck, but I'm so addicted to it that I put up with it. It's integration with Gmail seems to hork on a regular basis. I even have a script which shuts down Akonadi, kills a process that "akonadictl stop" doesn't get, then restarts. This seems to be the only way to continue to receive incoming Gmail emails/etc, and my company works off a Gmail business account. I've really even given up on Kontact's calendaring, preferring to simply go to Calendar.google.com (since Google Calendar supports Chrome on Linux really well). I'm really glad the browser wars have stopped hurting us Linux users.

Overall, I barely notice that I use Linux in a non-Linux world. I think the pain in general has gotten a lot less, even for my parents, who have been using it for a number of years now.

Take care, be healthy, and keep in touch!

Matt

Well hello everyone,

I hope this email finds you all well.

How many people are still on this list?

Anything noteworthy to talk about?

Is everybody OK regarding Coronavirus? Here in Australia people are hoarding toilet paper of all things.

Anyway ciao all!
