Hi Guys,

While I've been lurking these past 18 years!, I've used Linux in a variety
of areas.  Lately I've been using it in the form of "Linux CNC" a Debian
based distro/app for CNC Machines.  I have an older CNC that came with a
very old (early 80's era) CNC controller.  We recently upgraded it to
Linux, and have been very happy with its performance and configurability.
It has saved about $10k over a commercial retrofit to a proprietary
solution.  It also allows the use of a wide variety of accessory hardware.

We may even upgrade it to 5 axis, so we can make even more sophisticated
useless stuff.
