Hey Kurt, et. al.,

Still hanging in there. $DAYJOB is at Rice Univ running Linux servers for
the Computer Science department and clients for the grad students.  RHEL7
(ugh) and Ubuntu.  RHEL is "official" but the grad students prefer Ubuntu
-- libraries and stuff more up-to-date.

Grub -- still a smoking pile of dung.  Unfortunately, most of the distros
default to that POS. I still prefer lilo.  Grub is larger than DOS 6.2 and
qualifies as an OS in and of itself.  And yes, it often just craps all over
itself.  Deal with it.

Also deal with systemd (sweet Jesus why can't they leave well enough
alone).  Always fixing what's not broken.  And then there's SELinux.

Oh well.  Guess they need to keep us on our toes somehow.
