Occassionally I will have to do migrations from Really Old(tm)
systems, and having something around that can be used for this
has been essential (at least that's the excuse I give my wife
who is convinced that I'm a pack rat :-).

The biggest problem is often remembering how to do things like
transfer data from an SCO OpenServer 5.0.x system without
networking and marginal hard disks. A week or so ago I had to
remember how to use ckermit, at least until I figured out how to
mount a dd'ed disk image under a VMware virtual machine.

We maintain that the very foundation of our way of life is what we call
free enterprise, said Cash McCall, but when one of our citizens
show enough free enterprise to pile up a little of that profit, we do
our best to make him feel that he ought to be ashamed of himself.
