ADMIN: turning down our servers

All:
It has become apparent that the Linux SxS, while still a great
community, isn't really as thriving as it once was. Our NNTP server
has been dead for *quite* some time and no one has complained. Our IRC
server was shuttered when our hosting provider blocked IRC at their
'edge routers' and no one even told me (!!). The web site's access
logs are almost 98% indexing bots (go us!) and I honestly can't
remember the last conversation of note on the mailing list. In short,
I'm looking at my monthly expenses and going 'why?'.
So, I'm thinking about creating a Google Group to replace the mailing
list for anyone who wants to continue the occasional "where's Skippy?"
thread and making an archive of the site/lists available for download
and then pulling the plug on the rest.
Please speak up now if you are vehemently against this and are willing
and able to take over. The latter part of that sentence being the key
;)
I'm targeting Nov 1 as the day of infamy
