A Linux / Windows DNS question

I've spent a lot of time googling, but found little positive feedback
on this topic. We have a Linux/Windows mixed environment at work. I've
written (4-5 years ago) a very simple series of web programs (PHP) for
maintaining our ldap people, group, and host records, but more and
more of our servers are Windows and/or need DNS resolution from the
Windows DNS servers.

Does anyone know of a simple way to update Windows DNS from a Linux
system? I read somewhere that even powershell does not directly
support updating DNS.
