Well, I have several VMs that start automagically at boot using
VirtualBox. One linux server with 4 VMs (3 linux, one XP) has this in
/etc/rc.local:

su - vbox -c "VBoxVRDP -s pananix" &
sleep 3
su - vbox -c "VBoxVRDP -s pancall" &
sleep 3
su - vbox -c "VBoxVRDP -s ledgersmb" &
sleep 3
su - vbox -c "VBoxVRDP -s windoze" &

without the sleeps, only the first starts properly. Accesible with
rdesktop on different ports of the main server or via ssh/vnc.
