Hey Mike,

Yes, support for Broadcom chips has been dismal... however the latest kernels, 
in particular the 2.6.32 and up have brought ever increasingly imporved  
support in the B43 drivers.

For the first time, using B43, I can pop the Broadcom chip in my Presario into 
promiscuous mode for war driving... Same thing for my Dell mini 9. Up until 
the B43 improvements, I was stuck using the binary blob drive WL.
