[O/T] Cheap laptops?

Actually, they come from Penang, an island off Malaysia's north, and some are assembled in Johor, just north of Singapore. I wish they were manufactured here as delivery can sometimes be a suspenseful affair, but cheaper labour to the north means that manufacturing has shifted there. 

I like the Dell sales people though -- nice and friendly on the phone, they remind me of my relatives (who live in Malaysia).

The Latitude laptops look sharp. I'm using a Lenovo now, but will change to a Latitude as soon as I am able!
