If they are using the default Windows client then very probably they are 
using PPTP to establish a connection. So you can use poptop-server to 
provide the same functionality to the windows client...

The default windows client also supports L2TP, but generally it's PPTP 
that is used for road warrior style connections, because it's the 
easiest to set up.

With PPTP you have to open and/or forward port 1723 and GRE protocol to 
your poptop box.
