X Terminals/X Terminal Server

Folks,

I have a lab with a number of X terminals slaved to an X terminal
server.  I got some new boxes, set them up at home (where they work),
took them to the lab, and they don't work.  Specifically, the X screen
starts up, tries to query the terminal server, but when it does, it
recycles.  So it looks like it wants to work, but doesn't.

I'm running: X -ac -query 192.168.1.1
In my house, this works fine and gives me a login screen.

At the lab, the old X-terminals work fine, but the new ones get the
usual salt-and-pepper background with mouse cursor, but upon querying
the server, the X server recycles.

I can't find on either system any rhyme or reason or log entry.  I
have hosts.0 (and X0.hosts) file with the IP listed, so they should be
allowed.

With no log entries, I'm a bit stumped.  Have googled, but the X
terminal server entries only have things I've tried.

Any ideas?
