First principle of changes: change only one thing at the time.
Second principle: if it ain't broke, ....

If the iptables setup was working on the old hardware, it should work
on the new hardware, unless you are changing any ip addresses.

After you get the new system working you'll have plenty of time to
tinker with any other firewall offerings
