There are probably only a handful of folks in the world that actually
understand string theory and the math behind it.  And as a theory it
might be all well and good, but it certainly doesn't explain
everything.  Not to mention that no one can either prove or disprove
it.  So until something better comes along ...

Einstein's theories, OTOH, have been proven, are arriving at the
century mark, but are still not taught to the masses, although I
believe they should be.  They're not rocket science any more.  They
are used daily by astrophysicists the world over.

And if folks understood basic thermodynamics and heat engines, some of
these scams to get 100+ miles to the gallon from additives "the oil
companies don't want you to know about" would fold like a house of
cards in a hurricane.
