VMPlayer with Suse

I'm trying out Suse 11, downloaded the live cd and have loaded it using
VMPlayer. When I start the installer it wants to make 3 partitions, swap,
root and home, the latter 2 with ext4. My question is, will these be virtual
partitions in the VM, or will this effect my actual drives? I'm assuming
virtual, but thought to ask.
