I don't know if you can import VMs (I think only the 'Open 
Virtualization Format' is supported), but I use vmdk disk images created 
with VMware. Taking such an image, it is only three or four mouseclicks 
to create a VB machine with the vmdk file as virtual hard disk. There is 
no need to convert it into VB's own container format.
