I found this by googling and I'm using it. I needed the router's WAN
IP address in order to open the computer at work to the home network,
which I did. I just want an automated way to do it, and using an
external site isn't appealing, anyway. The proper way seems to be to
have a sshd server on the router and then use ifconfig or such. The
problem is that installing dd-wrt is not for the faint of heart, at
least not until I have the computers perfectly configured. The factory
software doesn't seem something I would recommend to anyone, and it
certainly doesn't include a sshd server (unless it's hidden
somewhere--the thing comes with no documentation worth mentioning).
The crappy web interface doesn't show the IP.
Thanks, everyone.
Jorge
